HOW CAN YOU EASILY MAKE YOUR BUSINESS TRIPS MORE SUSTAINABLE?

Simply and smartly with Green Fares. With the Lufthansa Group airlines¡¯ Green Fares, you and your company can use a more sustainable and easily bookable option for your flights. The fares are available on flights within Europe and between Europe and North Africa exclusively via the websites of the respective airlines and NDC as well as on intercontinental routes in all distribution channels. Green Fares combine two important aspects for more sustainable travel: the reduction and the offsetting of calculated flight-related CO2 emissions.

WHAT ARE GREEN FARES?

Green Fares are part of a broad portfolio of more sustainable travel offers from the Lufthansa Group, which the company is continuously expanding. The fares already include the full offsetting of the calculated flight-related CO2 emissions: through the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and a contribution to the Lufthansa Group¡¯s high-quality climate project portfolio.

The composition of the two components differs depending on the length of the route. For flights within Europe and between Europe and North Africa, 20% of the calculated flight-related CO2 emissions are reduced by using SAF, the remaining 80% is offset by climate protection projects.

On intercontinental routes, 10% of the calculated flight-related CO2 emissions are reduced by using SAF and the remaining 90% is offset by contributions to climate protection projects.

OTHER ADVANTAGES OF THE GREEN FARES:

  • Great choice: Green Fares are available in all travel classes. Simply choose between Economy Green, Premium Green, Business Green, and First Green.
  • More flexibility: Green Fares can be rebooked ¨C with no rebooking fee.
  • More benefits: With Green Fares. Travelers will receive up to 20% more miles, Points and Qualifying Points.

Green Fares are only available for flight connections operated by Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa, SWISS, Air Dolomiti, Discover Airlines and Edelweiss and booked under a Lufthansa Group flight number (OS/SN/LH/LX/EN/4Y/WK operated and marketed). Flights operated by other airlines as well as individual routes in selected traffic areas operated by joint-venture partners are excluded. Eurowings also offers a fare for more sustainable flying under the name PlanetBlu.
