THE WINTER MONTHS are not renowned as a hotbed of major launches and announcements from travel management companies, but there was nonetheless no shortage of news content covering the sector. At this time of year it��s no surprise to see a number of industry leaders moving into new roles and the publication of forecasts and surveys from TMCs providing insight into business travel��s direction in 2024. There was also a smattering of announcements pertaining to investment in and leverage of AI technology. But one news story stood out from the rest and particularly caught the attention of BTN Europe readers �C that of Gray Dawes' acquisition of VCK Travel which sees the TMC almost double in size. With M&As a recurring feature of the TMC sector in recent years, expect more in the months to come.
