Oakwood has opened an office in Beijing, part of a growing footprint in the Asia/Pacific region. The furnished apartment provider said the office will serve companies expanding their reach to China. A Beijing address also enables Oakwood to bill in local currency and issue fapiaos, Chinese tax receipt that serves as proof of purchase for goods and services. Fapiaos allow companies to be reimbursed for taxes and can serve as documentation for individuals seeking reimbursement for business expenses. Oakwood has 35,000 properties in more than 95 countries. Nine are in China, including in Beijing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Sanya, Shanghai, Suzhou and Yangzhou.
