The carrier, which recently completed its merger with Indian rival Vistara, said it will increase services on its London Heathrow-Delhi route from 21 to 24 per week from 30 March.
Air India¡¯s routes from Amritsar to Birmingham and London Gatwick will also both increase from three to four flights per week this summer, while its London Gatwick-Ahmedabad service will also go up from three to five weekly services.
Although Air India has also announced that it will stop operating from Gatwick to Kochi from 30 March ¡°until further notice¡±.
Other changes to its European schedule will see flights between Delhi and Zurich increase from four to five per week, and Delhi-Vienna frequencies rise from three to four weekly.
Air India added in a statement that the modernisation of its short-haul narrowbody aircraft was ¡°progressing well¡±, and it would start refitting its long-haul fleet in April ¨C starting with its Boeing 787 Dreamliners undergoing a retrofit of new seats and entertainment systems.
The retrofitting of Boeing 777 aircraft, which had been due to start this year, will now be delayed until next year ¡°due to production constraints at the selected seat supplier¡±.
