Retrofitted on Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, the new products made their debut on services between Hong Kong and Beijing today, ahead of deployment on unspecified regional and long-haul routes later this year.
Cathay Group chief customer and commercial officer Lavinia Lau said the airline is investing more than HK$100 billion in its fleet, cabins and lounges over the next seven years. ¡°As part of this evolution, we are excited to introduce new seat products over the next three years, each designed to elevate the inflight experience for our customers,¡± said Lau.
In addition to the ¡°all-new¡± business and premium economy cabins and the ¡°refreshed¡± economy cabin, Cathay will also introduced a new first class cabin on B777-9s and a flat-bed business class product on its Airbus A330s.
¡°Through our investments in cutting-edge aircraft, innovative technology and groundbreaking facilities, we are dedicated to moving beyond expectations ¨C in the air, on the ground and in every experience we create,¡± Lau added.
The airline¡¯s retrofitted B777-300ERs comprise 45 Aria suites in a 1-2-1 configuration together with 48 seats in premium economy and 268 in the economy cabin. Aria suites feature a wrap-around seat design, privacy door and sliding partition between seats, plus a 24-inch 4K widescreen TV, charging points and adjustable lighting.
It's new premium economy seats feature 15.6-inch 4k screens, reading lights, leather headrests and padded footrests.
