Finnair plans to resume flights to Japan from 9 March.
The carrier said it will fly to Tokyo Narita four times a week from Helsinki. The flight will take about 13 hours because of the conflict in Ukraine.
Ole Orv¨¦r, chief commercial officer of Finnair, said: ¡°Japan is one of our most important markets, and we want to continue offering safe and reliable connections between Helsinki and Tokyo.
¡°We continue to evaluate possible alternative routings for our flights to China and Korea and will communicate on these as soon as the plans are finalised.¡±
Earlier this week Finnair cancelled flights to China, Japan and Korea until 6 March, 2022.
The airline is still flying to Bangkok, Delhi, Phuket and Singapore, also with longer flight times to avoid Russian airspace.
