The four-hour-long industrial action will be similar to that launched at the beginning of the month and will take place across ¡°different work shifts¡±, according to the IAU.
The carrier warned the work stoppage will cause ¡°significant disruptions¡± on Friday and is expected to affect ¡°many functions¡± related to its flight operations and ground services. As a result, some 110 flights have been cancelled, affecting approximately 8,000 travellers.
"We are deeply sorry that our customers' important travel plans are once again disrupted. We are doing everything we can to provide our customers with alternative routing as quickly as possible," said Finnair¡¯s chief operating officer,?Jaakko Schildt, in a statement.?
Travellers affected by the strike will be offered alternative flight options, which will be made available via the airline¡¯s ¡®manage booking¡¯ option on its website and mobile app.
The IAU has also announced similar industrial action on Monday 2 June and Wednesday 4 June. Finnair said it is ¡°still assessing the exact effects¡± on traffic, but that it is likely to cause additional disruption. Travellers due to fly on these dates ¡°can already change their travel dates¡± by contacting their travel agent or Finnair customer service, the carrier said.
