From 15 September, ITA*s AZ code will be added to select United flights, including connections to Dallas, Denver, Honolulu, Houston, and Newark, which the carrier said compliments its existing transatlantic network.
Meanwhile, United*s UA code will be added to ITA-operated domestic routes 每 including those to Bari, Bologna, Florence, Catania and Turin 每 as well as international connections across Europe via the Italian carrier*s Rome Fiumicino hub.
As part of the new agreement, both airlines will offer reciprocal loyalty point accrual and redemption, as well as mutual access to airport lounges.
ITA Airways CEO and general manager Joerg Eberhart said: ※The codeshare agreement with United Airlines represents a significant step forward in ITA Airways* strategy to expand its network to new intercontinental destinations.
