From March 30, the new long-haul cabin will be available on flights from Munich to San Diego, as well as on flights to New York-Newark from mid-April and then also, from early August, on services to Charlotte.
This is in addition to current services connecting Munich to San Francisco, Chicago, San Diego, Shanghai and Bengaluru.
Travellers who have already reserved a seat on flights to San Diego, Newark and Charlotte ¡°can look forward to a free upgrade to a comfortable Allegris seat¡±, the carrier said.
Lufthansa currently has nine A350-900s fitted with Allegris economy, premium economy and business class cabins, six of which also include the new first class cabin.
¡°Overall, our new cabin interior is extremely popular with guests ¨C with satisfaction rates in business class of well over 90 per cent,¡± said Heiko Reitz, chief customer officer at Lufthansa Airlines.
When booking Allegris business class seats, travellers can reserve a specific seat ahead of travel. A 'classic seat' reservation is free of charge, however advance reservation of seats with ¡°additional comfort¡± will incur an additional charge. This includes the business class suite with a personal wardrobe and minibar (from €400 for advanced reservation), the extra space seat (from €130), the privacy seat by the window and the seat with an extra-long bed (both from €100).
According to the carrier, the most loyal frequent flyers can select up to 80 per cent of the business class seat options free of charge, depending on their status.
