SAS and Canadian airline WestJet have formed an interline agreement ahead of plans to launch a ¡°full¡± codeshare deal later this summer, the carriers said on Thursday (12 June).

The interline agreement will allow travellers to book combined itineraries across the two carriers from 26 June with a single check-in and through-checked baggage.
WestJet customers will be able to book travel to 29 destinations across Denmark, Sweden and Norway, while SAS travellers will gain access to the Canadian carrier¡¯s domestic network, including flights to Calgary, Vancouver, Ottawa and Winnipeg.
SAS chief commercial officer Paul Verhagen said: ¡°This partnership lays the foundation for a long-term collaboration that will benefit travellers on both sides of the Atlantic¡ and with our planned codeshare, even more seamless options are just around the corner.¡±
The Scandinavian carrier currently operates a direct Copenhagen-Toronto service, which will be rolled into the codeshare agreement, along with SAS-operated flights to London, Paris and Amsterdam, the carriers said. However, further details regarding the launch of the agreement were not provided. ?
WestJet also recently extended existing codeshare agreements with Virgin Atlantic and Air France-KLM.
