The resumed service, last operated in 2009, will offer five weekly flights using Airbus A350 aircraft. With the addition of Seattle, SAS now connects to 11 destinations in North America from its hub in Copenhagen.
"Seattle is more than just a new destination for us. It is a return to a city with historic ties to Scandinavia and growing importance for business and tourism," SAS president and CEO, Anko van der Werff, said. "We are reopening this connection and providing our customers with greater access across the Atlantic."
Since exiting Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and joining the SkyTeam airline alliance last September, SAS has been rapidly expanding its network and, last month, also announced the return of business class cabins on European flights.
