The move, which comes after Air France-KLM agreed to take a majority stake in SAS earlier this year, will see Air France add its code to SAS¡¯s transatlantic flights.
The new codeshare covers SAS flights from Copenhagen to Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York Newark, New York JFK, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington DC.
Also covered by the agreement will be flights from Stockholm to Newark and Miami, plus services from Oslo to Newark and JFK airports.
Passengers flying on these codeshare routes can earn miles towards Flying Blue status and SAS flights are eligible for reward tickets.
The two airline groups have been working closely together since last year when SAS joined Air France-KLM in the SkyTeam alliance, as well as SAS codesharing on some long-haul services operated by Air France and KLM from Paris Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam Schiphol airports.
¡°This continued deepening of this commercial partnership underscores the airlines' shared vision to offer passengers more choice and flexibility,¡± said the airlines in a statement.
