Virgin Atlantic is adding to its US schedule with a new route from London Heathrow to Tampa in Florida.
The new year-round service will start on 3 November with four weekly flights before going daily from 28 November.?
Tampa will be Virgin¡¯s third destination in Florida with the airline already flying from London to both Orlando and Miami. It will be the first-ever non-stop service between Heathrow and Tampa International airport, although British Airways already flies between Gatwick and Tampa.
Virgin¡¯s latest US destination comes after the UK carrier introduced direct flights between London and Austin in Texas in May.
Tampa¡¯s key industries include financial services, healthcare and a growing technology sector. The city was also the third fastest growing US metro area for entrepreneurs in 2021.
Juha Jarvinen, chief commercial officer at Virgin Atlantic, said: ¡°The region has a booming economy with high profile businesses moving to the area and many budding entrepreneurs registering start-ups in the city. We very much look forward to forging new relationships within the Tampa Bay community.¡±
