Called Carbon Strategy Planner, the tool gives travel managers ※unmatched clarity on emissions scenarios, carbon budgeting, and what actions truly drive impact§, and is integrated into Advito*s Sustainability Consulting analytics suite.
Julien Etchanchu, senior director of sustainability consulting at Advito, said the new platform enables travel managers to forecast future emissions by modelling different scenarios such as reducing travel demand, future staffing projections, shifting modes of transportation or class of travel, investing in SAF, and choosing more efficient suppliers.
Travel managers can also use the platform to transform forecasts into carbon budgets 每 at both a whole company or department/unit level 每 and track progress towards sustainability targets.
"Once you have a forecast, defining a budget is easy 每 managing the budget is trickier," said Etchanchu. "Our tool provides a detailed overview of your current status compared to your budget, along with a simulator to better forecast the end of the year."
The tool is available to customers now, and is built on Advito*s ISO-certified GATE4 emissions methodology but is compatible with any emissions standard.
※In the near future, companies will have to approach their emissions planning in the same way they do financial planning today,§ said Etchanchu. ※Our tool helps clients move beyond reporting alone, so they understand what actions will drive down emissions over time and where to focus their resources for maximum impact.§
Etchanchu continued: ※Our clients are telling us that there*s a real need for a tool that shows the expected carbon and spend impact of each action. This platform helps connect strategy to action, and support organisations on their journey towards making carbon planning as fundamental to their business operations as financial planning.§
