EcoVadis assesses more than 150,000 companies annually on their environmental commitments, labour standards and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. Only one per cent of those assessed achieve platinum status.
The travel management company was evaluated against EcoVadis¡¯ updated scoring principles, which, according to BCD, now place greater emphasis on measurable outcomes, stakeholder engagement, and alignment with global frameworks such as the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
¡°EcoVadis has raised the bar, and rightly so¡ [They] push companies to go beyond compliance and demonstrate real impact,¡± said Olivia Ruggles-Brise, BCD¡¯s vice president of sustainability. ¡°We¡¯re proud to be recognised for our progress and remain committed to driving meaningful change.¡±
Ruggles-Brise said the TMC is committed to integrating sustainable goals into its 2030 growth strategy.
According to its 2024 sustainability report, BCD last year reduced its Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 69 per cent, compared to a 2019 baseline, while Scope 3 emissions fell 21 per cent. It also reported an 18 per cent increase in sales from its Advito sustainability consulting practice, while 40 per cent of the TMC¡¯s top-spend suppliers in 2024 were assessed on their ESG practices using a new due diligence tool.
