The UK's Business Travel Association (BTA) has revealed that the first week of February saw the highest numbers of domestic and international business travel bookings since May 2020.
Pointing to Travelogix data, the BTA said international and domestic bookings from the UK increased 135 per cent compared to the same week in 2021.
The organisation also highlighted international destinations benefitting from the boost in bookings with Singapore and the UAE experiencing levels that surpassed the same week in 2019.
The BTA announced the news with a caveat however and said that while an "uptick in demand" is evident, an overall loss of ?2.6 billion in gross domestic product remains compared to the first week of February 2019.
The organisation added that restrictions to many key business destinations are still in place with lower levels of business travel to the Republic of Ireland representing a ?620 million loss to GDP and reduced travel to Germany totalling a ?498 million loss to GDP.
