The GTMC has rebranded to the Business Travel Association (BTA).
The new look was unveiled at the organisation¡¯s conference in The Netherlands on 2 July, and coincides with the upcoming launch in Westminster of an All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) that will be dedicated exclusively to business travel.
In his BBT column, outgoing Business Travel Association chief executive Adrian Parkes said the BTA would continue to ¡°work closely with the government, reinforced by a newly formed APPG for business travel¡±.
Parkes added: ¡°The APPG is all part of the same strategic ambition, as is the brand change, which is to better promote the importance of business travel, by broadening BTA¡¯s scope of work.¡±
The APPG is due to launch this summer, following the election of a new Conservative leader.
BTA has also appointed Suzanne Horner as new chair of its executive board. She replaces Paul Allan who has stepped down following Clarity¡¯s acquisition of Ian Allan Travel in May.
¡°I¡¯m thrilled to take up this role at such an exciting time for the association," said Horner. "I¡¯m looking forward to working closely with the new CEO and board on delivering the new BTA strategy and continuing the hard work we¡¯ve already started to implement on behalf of our TMC members and their clients, as well as partners and other industry associates. We have a bright future ahead.¡±
