The guide has been produced following the launch of ITM*s Inclusive Travel Taskforce in January and aims to provide a ※practical roadmap§ for travel managers to create programmes that account for the varied needs of a diverse workforce. This includes considerations related to race, gender, sexual orientation, physical ability, religion and neurodiversity.
It also outlines how to conduct inclusive risk assessments and supplier engagements, how to build feedback loops that centre employee voices, and how to leverage data to measure inclusivity in travel spend and policy impact.
Commenting on the guide, ITM board member and member of the Inclusive Travel Taskforce, Sue Jones 每 who is a global meetings & events implementation specialist at HSBC 每 said: ※Our buyer members and our supplier members are all learning together, so the important thing to remember is that you are not alone in this# keep in mind that the steps we take towards making business travel truly inclusive will make a positive difference to our travellers, to our organisations and to society as a whole.§
Along with Jones, ITM*s Inclusive Travel Taskforce includes Adam Hickingbotham, procurement manager 每 travel?&?office services at Atkins Realis, Kayleigh Rogers, consulting manager at Amex GBT; Carolyn Pearson, CEO of traveller safety consultancy Maiden Voyage; Kerry Smith, inclusion and wellbeing manager at Mott MacDonald; Louise Kilgannon, head of outsourcing at consultancy Festive Road and a travel manager from the banking and financial services sector.
ITM*s inclusive travel guide will be published on 19 June.
