The collaboration between the two companies will see the integration of CO2 reporting functions within Lanes & Planes¡¯ travel management platform.
In a statement, they said this move would ¡°significantly improve transparency¡± of the emissions incurred from business trips, while Lanes & Planes¡¯ clients will also be able to contribute to climate projects when booking.
Raj Das,?head of commercial partnerships at Lanes & Planes, said: ¡°Despite digitalisation and the possibilities of remote work, business trips are an indispensable part of everyday life for many companies. That is why it is our task to make these necessary trips as sustainable as possible.
¡°The integration of Squake will significantly expand our offering, make emissions more visible and help our customers achieve their sustainability goals in the area of business travel.¡±
Users of Lanes & Planes¡¯ platform will see estimated CO2 emissions from their selected travel options when booking, as well as receiving detailed post-trip reports on the carbon footprint. They will also have the option to directly contribute to certified climate protection projects with every booking.
The companies said these functions would be ¡°introduced and rolled out gradually to ensure optimum performance and stability¡±.
Philipp von Lamezan, co-founder and CEO of Squake, added: "Business travel often makes up a large part of a company¡¯s CO2 footprint and reducing it starts with visibility.
¡°With our integration into Lanes & Planes, companies can see, manage and act on emissions directly at the point of booking. It¡¯s a big step toward making sustainability a default, not an afterthought."
Munich-based Lanes & Planes was ranked as the 18th largest TMC in Europe in 2024.
