UK-based TAG, which specialises in managing travel for the entertainment sector, said that the purchase of CCM was part of its strategy to ¡°expand our event offering to a broader client base¡±. Financial details of the acquisition have not been revealed.
TAG added that it will ¡°slowly and strategically integrate¡± CCM¡¯s clients, who are mostly in the hospitality and gaming sectors.
Shane Barr, managing director of TAG APAC, said: ¡°CCM has an enviable market position as the go-to event planner for the hospitality and gaming industry.
¡°The gaming industry is similar in many ways to the entertainment industry in that the feel of doing the business is the same. Most of CCM¡¯s clients have an international, global and event footprint so, naturally, the acquisition will allow us to support these clients within TAG¡¯s 18 global offices.¡±
CCM, which is based in Sydney, has been operating for more than 25 years with a focus on offering ¡°concierge-level service¡± to clients.
Catherine Mancuso, CCM¡¯s founder and managing director, added: ¡°A huge reason for my excitement about joining forces with TAG is their reputation.?
¡°All hotels and airlines speak so highly of the company, and not just in Australia - numerous countries around the globe say the same thing. It confirms that I am making the right decision to join such a professional and respected organisation.¡±
CCM Travel will continue to operate separately for the next six months following its acquisition. It will then transition to become part of TAG¡¯s global events division.
¡°The two companies are emphasising the importance of carrying out an efficient integration for both CCM and TAG employees and clients, rather than rushing into a specific timeline,¡± added TAG in a statement.
TAG Group was ranked as the 16th largest TMC in Europe in this year¡¯s list of the continent's leading TMCs by BTN Europe.
