Travelport has appointed former Skyscanner CEO John Mangelaars as its chief operating officer, overseeing all the travel technology company's commercial activities.
Mangelaars succeeds Travelport chief operating officer and deputy CEO John Elieson, who has been with Travelport nearly six years and is stepping down this month.
Mangelaars joins Travelport after about four-and-a-half years leading metasearch provider Skyscanner. Prior to that, he was CEO of travel technology company Travix International, which was acquired by the Trip.com Group.
"John's track record of revolutionising travel platforms at Skyscanner and Travix, combined with his enterprise technology expertise, positions him to increase our momentum as we redefine what's possible in travel," Travelport CEO Greg Webb said in a statement.
