Germany-based mobility platform Freenow has appointed Lennart Zipfel as its new chief financial officer.
Zipfel has worked at the company since 2019 in various management roles dedicated to commercial finance. He succeeds Johannes Prantl, who is leaving the company to retire. Prior to joining Freenow, Zipfel worked as a management consult at EY.
In his new role, Zipfel said he aims to achieve ¡°sustainable growth¡± and will focus on the platform¡¯s ¡°core¡± taxi services after the company reported a break-even financial result in 2024.
Freenow CEO Thomas Zimmermann said: ¡°We are continuing to sharpen our focus and commitment to the taxi sector. I¡¯m proud of our achievements in 2024 and the strategic shift that contributed to reaching break-even and the financial stability of Freenow.¡±
Commenting on the appointment, Zimmermann added: ¡°[Zipfel] brings a wealth of knowledge and experience. His deep understanding of our business and fresh perspectives are invaluable for our continuous growth and success."
The platform, which also offers carsharing, airport transfers, ebikes and scooters, is currently available in more than 150 European cities.
