Marriott International has announced that CFO and EVP of development Leeny Oberg will retire from the company in March 2026.
The US-based hotel giant said that Oberg will be replaced by a pair of company veterans: Jen Mason, who is global officer, treasurer and risk management, and Shawn Hill, currently chief development officer for the Asia-Pacific excluding China.
Mason will take over as CFO when Oberg departs next spring, while Hill assumes the role of chief development officer on 1 January 2026.
Oberg has served as Marriott¡¯s CFO since 2016 and as EVP of development since 2023 - a role which saw her take responsibility for growing Marriott's global portfolio. She joined Marriott in 1999, serving in investor relations and financial management positions before becoming CFO of Marriott's Ritz Carlton brand in 2013.
"Leeny¡¯s focus on value creation is evident in everything she does," said Marriott CEO Anthony Capuano in a statement. "Whether it was navigating the pandemic successfully, enhancing the company¡¯s cost competitiveness or having a disciplined and strategic approach to investing in growth, her impact on Marriott is long-lasting."
