Jonas Abrahamsson joined Swedavia as CEO in 2017
Swedavia chief executive Jonas Abrahamsson will step down from the top job in February 2026 to pursue a new career opportunity, the Swedish airport operator announced on Monday (25 August).
Abrahamsson was appointed chief executive officer of the company in January 2017. Swedavia, which owns and operates 10 airports across Sweden 每 including Stockholm Arlanda Airport, the country*s largest international gateway 每 said the recruitment process for a new CEO will begin immediately.
Swedavia board chair Ulrika Francke, in a statement, said Abrahamsson is ※a valued and popular leader§ who successfully steered the company through the pandemic while also being ※a driving force§ in its climate transition.
Commenting on his resignation, Abrahamsson added: ※It*s been a true honour to spend nine exciting years leading an organisation with so many competent and committed colleagues who all work together to enable people to meet. I*ll miss those co-workers dearly when I pass the baton early next year and take on a new position.§
