From 30 March,?Allegris First Class will be available on flights from Munich to San Francisco, Chicago, San Diego, Shanghai and Bengaluru, all of which already feature the new cabin product in economy, premium economy and business class.
The German carrier said almost half a million passengers have experienced the Allegris product, following its launch last May. The airline also plans to begin retrofitting the cabin to its existing Boeing 747-8 fleet this year, however it did not provide a specific start date.
Allegris First Class includes two individual suites along with 'Suite Plus', a double cabin with two seats that can be combined into a double bed, if required.
Each suite features seats with inbuilt heating and cooling, an up to 43-inch-wide screen, ceiling-high walls and a lockable door for privacy. There¡¯s also a personal wardrobe with ¡°generous¡± storage space.
"We are completely reinventing the Lufthansa First Class travel experience with Allegris and making it even more exclusive," said Lufthansa Airlines CEO Jens Ritter. "We are also investing in exclusivity and comfort on the ground by completely redesigning our First Class check-in areas and lounges in Munich and Frankfurt."
Lufthansa isn¡¯t the only European carrier investing in its high-end product, with Air France this week unveiling its new first class suites. British Airways is also set to introduce a new first class offering in 2026 as part of an ongoing ?7 billion ¡®transformation¡¯ plan.
Lufthansa on Thursday (20 March) also announced plans to overhaul ¡°all service components on long-haul flights in all classes¡± in 2026. This will coincide with the carrier¡¯s 100th anniversary and will include changes to the culinary offering, tableware, pillows, blankets, amenity kits and onboard service, the carrier said.
