Riyadh Air, which was formed in 2023 as part of the country¡¯s ambitions to rapidly grow its tourism industry, announced the partnership at the Paris Air Show on Tuesday (17 June).
In a statement, the companies said the arrangement would create a ¡°new benchmark for seamless, guest centric travel¡±.
The deal will see Blacklane provide free chauffeur services to passengers travelling internationally in Riyadh Air¡¯s Business Elite or Business Class cabins, plus eligible loyalty members, for journeys within 50 kilometres of Riyadh¡¯s King Khalid International Airport.
These transfers will be integrated into the airline¡¯s booking platform with eligible passengers able to arrange their Blacklane chauffeur journey when booking their flights. Riyadh Air¡¯s customers can also separately book Blacklane¡¯s services around the world.
Tony Douglas, CEO of Riyadh Air, said: ¡°We revealed our stylish new Business Elite and Business Class seats recently, and this is the next step in keeping our promises to deliver an exceptional premium experience to our guests.¡±?
Jens Wohltorf, CEO and co-founder of Blacklane, added: ¡°This partnership is more than a service - it¡¯s a promise. Together, Riyadh Air and Blacklane will offer guests a thoughtfully curated journey, marked by reliability, sophistication and genuine care.¡±
Germany-based Blacklane is expanding in Saudi Arabia after securing €60 million in funding last year from TASARU Mobility Investments, which is owned by the country¡¯s Public Investment Fund.
Earlier this month, the company also struck a deal with electric vehicle (EV) maker Lucid Motors to introduce EVs in Saudi Arabia.
