From 1 September, fares in booking classes K, L, T and S for flights departing from Singapore will only be available via NDC or direct channels, the airline group said in a statement on Friday (29 August).
Lufthansa said the transition is ¡°in alignment¡± with its joint venture partner Singapore Airlines and will include all Lufthansa Group fares from Singapore to destinations in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Belgium under the existing joint venture agreement.
The two carriers entered a joint venture partnership in 2015 for key routes between the Asia-Pacific region (Singapore, Malaysia and Australia) and 26 European cities, including Brussels, Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna and Zurich. As well as flag carriers Lufthansa and Singapore Airlines, the agreement also includes Austrian Airlines and SWISS.?
Gilles Burgat, Lufthansa Group general manager in Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei, said: ¡°We are confident this transition will bring even more value to our corporate clients, agencies, and travellers commencing their journey in Singapore.¡±
The move comes weeks after Lufthansa announced similar plans to remove its domestic Light fares in Germany from EDIFACT channels.
