IHG Hotels & Resorts has expanded the number of Garner properties in the UK following the brand¡¯s launch in the country earlier this year.

The midscale ¡°conversion¡± brand, which was only launched by IHG in 2023, opened the first Garner hotel in the UK in March.

IHG now has five Garner properties across the UK in Preston, Edinburgh, Nottingham, Birmingham and Reading, with a sixth hotel in central London - Garner Hotel London Paddington - due to make its debut next year.

The Garner brand is targeting travellers seeking ¡°high-quality, affordable stays with all the essentials¡± including free wifi.

Joanna Kurowska, IHG¡¯s UK and Ireland managing director, said Garner was ¡°gaining strong momentum¡± in the UK.

Garner Hotel London Paddington, which is due to open in late 2026, will feature 149 rooms, plus a restaurant and conference room. Another four Garner properties in the UK are also in development.

IHG said that it now has 51 Garner properties around the world with another 87 in the development pipeline. This includes 30 open hotels in Europe and another 37 in development.
