Marriott International has completed its $355 million acquisition of Netherlands-based independent hotel chain CitizenM, in a deal that was first announced in April.

CitizenM, which opened its first hotel in 2008, currently has 37 ※tech-savvy§ hotels in operation across Europe, the US and Asia, with another two properties in the pipeline.
The US hotel giant said it will now begin integrating the CitizenM portfolio of 8,789 rooms into its systems and platforms 每 including the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty programme 每 in a process that is expected to be complete ※later this year§. In the meantime, CitizenM properties will remain bookable on the brand*s existing digital channels.

CitizenM has properties in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Dublin, Geneva, Glasgow, London, Paris, Rome, Rotterdam and Zurich, as well as in major US cities such as New York, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, Seattle, San Francisco and Washington DC.
