Marriott International is to expand is footprint in
Turkey by almost a third with the opening of ten new properties by the end of
2022, bringing its portfolio in the country to 43 hotels and representing 7,000 rooms.
Two of the new properties will open under the full-service business travel focused Four
Points by Sheraton brand: one in Istanbul Kagithane this year and one in Elazig
in eastern Anatolia in 2022.
The Burdock in Karak?y
and the Orient Occident, a hundred-year-old property
in Emin?n¨¹, will join the group¡¯s
Autograph Collection for independent hotels looking for wider distribution and economies
of scale.
The group will also debut its extended stay brand,
Residence Inn by Marriott, in Istanbul Atasehir?later this year and will
add new Delta Hotels by Marriott and Sheraton properties in Istanbul by the end
of the year. In 2022, the company is expected to open?The Ritz-Carlton
Residences, Istanbul?and?The Residences at the Sheraton Istanbul
Esenyurt.
