Aparthotel specialist Staycity Group has announced plans to open its first property in Northern Ireland.
The Dublin-based company has struck a deal with developer Lotus Property to open a 98-room hotel in Belfast city centre, which will be converted from its previous use as a tax office for HMRC and is due to completed in the third quarter of 2026.
The property located on Belfast¡¯s Wellington Place will be turned into a mixture of studio and one-bedroom apartments. It will also feature a reception, bar, restaurant and shop.
Simon Walford, Staycity Group¡¯s UK development director, said: ¡°We are thrilled to announce the acquisition of this prime site in the heart of Belfast. The property will operate under our popular Staycity Aparthotels brand.¡±
Staycity, which also operates the Wilde extended stay brand, currently has a portfolio of 36 properties across Europe offering a total of around 6,000 apartment-style rooms.
Chief development officer Andrew Fowler added:?¡°This is a significant deal for us as it marks our entry into another European capital city while strengthening our partnership with The Lotus Group, a key development partner with whom we are pursuing multiple UK projects.¡±
