The Hungary-based budget airline said it had signed its first partnership with an aggregator to ¡°widen access to its fares and services¡± to include travel management companies (TMCs) and online booking tools (OBTs).
As part of the deal, Wizz Air is making its fares and services available through Travelfusion¡¯s network, with the content going live last week.
The move comes a year after Ryanair agreed its own ¡°landmark¡± distribution deal with Travelfusion, which specialises in aggregating content from low-cost airlines.
Silvia Mosquera, Wizz Air¡¯s commercial officer, said: ¡°We are proud to take this important step in making Wizz Air¡¯s fares more visible and accessible to customers who book through third-party platforms. This agreement marks the beginning of a strategic work with online travel agencies and aggregators.
¡°By collaborating with Travelfusion, we are taking a first step in widening access to Wizz Air¡¯s affordable fares.¡±
Wizz added that its ¡°lowest fares and the full suite of ancillary products¡± would continue to be only available through its website and app, which will offer ¡°best value to customers who book directly¡±. But in a response to BTN Europe, Wizz said that prices available through Travelfusion would "still be low fares, but may include surcharges from third party sellers, which will be visible to customers".
Eytan Bicaci Baruh, vice president of commercial at Travelfusion, added: ¡°This collaboration reinforces Travelfusion¡¯s ongoing mission to offer the broadest possible content, with a continued focus on distributing low-cost carrier content to our global network of agency customers.¡±
The two companies said they would announce ¡°further enhancements¡± to agency connectivity, customer servicing and route availability later this year.
